Overview
When a student's ISIR is submitted but does not appear on their account in Campus Ivy, the most common cause is a mismatch between the SSN, date of birth, or legal name on the student's record and the information on file with the Department of Education. This article explains how to identify and resolve the issue.
Why This Happens
Federal Student Aid (FSA) links ISIR data to student records using the student's Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth (DOB), and legal name. If any of these identifiers do not match exactly between Campus Ivy and the FSA record, the ISIR will not populate on the student's account.
Steps to Resolve
- Verify the student's SSN, DOB, and legal name — Compare what is entered in Campus Ivy against the student's government-issued ID and their FAFSA submission.
- Correct the record in Campus Ivy — If a discrepancy is found, update the SSN, DOB, or name in Campus Ivy. Contact the CI Financial Aid Team to request the correction if you do not have access to make this change directly.
- Ask the student to correct their FAFSA if needed — If the error is on the FAFSA side (e.g., the student entered the wrong SSN), the student must log in to studentaid.gov and submit a correction. A new ISIR will be transmitted once the correction is processed.
- Confirm the ISIR populates — After the correction, verify that the ISIR appears on the student's account and that you can proceed with creating the financial aid package.
When to Contact Support
If the SSN, DOB, and name all appear correct but the ISIR still does not show, submit a support ticket to the CI Financial Aid Team with the student's name, student ID, and the ISIR transaction date so the team can investigate on the back end.
