Issue
A student has a recorded ISIR date in Campus Ivy, but no ISIR is visible on the student's account page. As a result, the FA office cannot create a funding estimate. This can affect multiple students at once, particularly after a batch ISIR import.
Why This Happens
ISIR data is imported from the Department of Education via a batch process. In some cases the import registers a receipt date but the ISIR record itself fails to attach to the student profile — often due to an SSN mismatch between the FAFSA and the Campus Ivy record, a processing error during the import batch, or the ISIR being linked to a different student profile (duplicate record scenario).
Steps to Resolve
- Confirm the student's SSN in Campus Ivy exactly matches the SSN on the FAFSA submission. Even a single-digit difference will prevent the ISIR from attaching. If there is a mismatch, submit a student record correction ticket first (see the article on SSN and DOB corrections).
- If the SSN matches and the ISIR is still not visible, submit a ticket to CI Financial Aid with:
- Student name and Campus Ivy ID
- The ISIR date showing on the account
- Confirmation that SSN matches between FAFSA and Campus Ivy
- Any error messages seen when attempting to create an FA
- The CI Financial Aid team will locate the ISIR in the import queue and manually attach it to the student profile.
Important Notes
- If multiple students at the same school have this issue on the same day, submit one ticket listing all affected student IDs. This pattern may indicate a school-level import configuration issue.
- Do not re-submit a new FAFSA to work around a missing ISIR — this creates a new transaction cycle and will not resolve the attachment problem.
