Student Stuck in Verification or Verification Not Clearing

Modified on Thu, 25 Jun at 9:50 PM

Issue

A student is flagged as being in verification status in Campus Ivy, but no documents are being requested from the student and/or the verification status is not clearing after documents have been uploaded and reviewed. This blocks the FA office from packaging or disbursing aid.

Common Scenarios

  • Student in verification bucket with no document requests: The student appears in the verification queue but the system is not generating a document checklist. This usually means the ISIR was pushed into verification but the verification tracking boxes were not checked in Campus Ivy during the ISIR import.
  • Verification not clearing after documents submitted: Documents have been uploaded and the school believes verification is complete, but the student is still flagged. This may occur if the FA office did not mark the verification fields as reviewed, or if a required document type is still showing as outstanding in the system.

Steps to Resolve

  1. For a student with no document requests, check whether the verification tracking checkboxes on the ISIR record in Campus Ivy have been populated. If they are blank, submit a ticket to CI Financial Aid requesting that the verification boxes be checked on the pushed ISIR. Include the student name and ID.
  2. For a student whose verification is not clearing after document submission, review each document on the required checklist and confirm all are marked as received and approved — not just uploaded. If all documents show as approved and the flag persists, submit a ticket to CI Financial Aid.
  3. In your support ticket include:
    • Student name and Campus Ivy ID
    • ISIR award year
    • Description of which scenario applies (no documents requested vs. documents submitted but not clearing)
    • Screenshot of the verification status screen if available

Important Notes

  • Verification flags are set at the federal level based on ISIR C codes. They cannot be removed without completing the verification process — only resolved by confirming the correct data is on file.
  • If the student was selected for verification by the Department of Education after an ISIR correction, a new document request may need to be initiated. The CI Financial Aid team can confirm whether additional documentation is required.
