Portico SIS Release Notes - March 2026

This month’s release delivers new graduation date enhancements and expanded compliance reporting tools within Portico SIS. With a dynamic Projected Grad Date, a new Contract End Date for NACCAS reporting, and built-in support for Puerto Rico’s Form 480.7G, these updates improve accuracy, streamline data collection, and strengthen alignment across Academic, Financial Aid, and Compliance teams.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Projected Grad Date

Real-time, pace-driven graduation tracking -- aligned with Portico Financial Aid data

What It Is

A new field designed to improve visibility and alignment between Portico Financial Aid and Academic records.

Who It's For

Academic & Financial Aid departments

Why It Matters

For Clock Hour Programs:

CORE automatically updates the Loan Period End Date based on the student’s actual pace. Because the graduation date for clock hour programs aligns with the last date of attendance to complete the program hours, this enhancement ensures the SIS Projected Grad Date reflects real-time attendance and pace data.  This provides a significant benefit for clock hour enrollments by automating the projected graduation date within the SIS — improving accuracy and visibility.

For Credit Hour Programs:

While Loan Period End Dates are not pace-based for credit hour enrollments, institutions can use this field as an audit tool to monitor and validate Loan Period End Dates within the SIS.

**Other graduation date-related fields within the SIS are not impacted by this enhancement.

Details

Clients must be using the Portico FA software platform (CORE) for this feature to function.  Field values are unable to be created or edited within the SIS.

Contract End Date

Simplified, audit-ready NACCAS reporting.

What It Is

A new field designed to support regulatory reporting accuracy and improve how institutions manage graduation date data

Who It's For

Admissions, Academic, and Regulatory Compliance departments.  Clock hour & other non-term enrollments.

Why It Matters

For NACCAS-accredited institutions — especially in Beauty & Wellness (clock hour) programs schools often need to report a graduation date that differs from the expected and actual graduation date.  The reported date must align with the date listed on the student’s contract and any contract addendums, regardless of whether Paperless Campus Enrollment workflows are used.

This enhancement:

  • Eliminates the need to manually compile contract graduation dates from signed documents
  • Reduces or removes manual editing of the NACCAS report
  • Provides a standardized field specifically designed for this regulatory requirement
  • Preserves existing workflows
  • Automates inclusion logic in the NACCAS report based on Contract End Date

Details

  • A new Contract End Date field has been added to the Enrollment record as an editable calendar date-picker.
  • All changes are recorded in Change History for audit purposes.
  • The field can be made available during Application creation when enabled at the Academic Year Template.
  • The field value does not need to be part of List Inventory.
  • Contract End Date has been added as a column to:
    • Students by Start Date by Program report
    • Pre-Graduation Audit report
  • The field is now incorporated into the NACCAS report logic.

NACCAS Reporting Enhancement

The NACCAS report will now:

  • Return enrollments with a Contract End Date within the reporting date range filter.  If the Contract End Date field is blank, the report will default to the Expected Grad Date value.

Action Required

To enable availability during Application creation, update the setting within the Academic Year Template.

Form 480.7G (Puerto Rico Tax Reporting)

Streamlined 480.7G reporting -- built right into the SIS.

What It Is

A utility and report within the SIS, designed to help eligible post-secondary institutions in Puerto Rico meet reporting requirements for the American Opportunity Tax Credit (Crédito de la Oportunidad Americana).  Form 480.7G is an informative return issued to certify a student’s enrollment and eligible education expenses. It is Puerto Rico’s equivalent of a tuition statement (1098T) aligned specifically to AOTC rules. All Eligible Educational Institutions are required to prepare a Form 480.7G for each Eligible Student and file it electronically with the Puerto Rico Treasury (Departamento de Hacienda).

Who It's For

Compliance & Bursar departments. Schools that need to report data for eligible students.

Why It Matters

This enhancement standardizes and automates Form 480.7G data collection and reporting within the SIS, helping institutions:

  • Ensure accurate classification of eligible education expenses
  • Maintain audit-ready change tracking
  • Reduce manual compilation and reconciliation efforts
  • Generate a structured export file for required electronic submission
  • By centralizing eligibility, financial classification, and reporting logic, schools can confidently meet regulatory requirements while improving efficiency and data integrity.

Details

  • A new flag at the Enrollment record to indicate whether the enrollment should be included in Form 480.7G reporting.
  • An insert field within Paperless documents allowing students to update their eligibility information.
  • All changes recorded in Change History for audit purposes.
  • New Ledger Code flags to properly classify ledger entries for inclusion in the report.
  • A new 480.7G PR Tax Return report that compiles required data and exports to Excel for electronic submission to the Puerto Rico Treasury (Departamento de Hacienda).

Action Required

Configuration of applicable Ledger Codes is required to ensure proper expense classification for reporting.

System Improvements: Tuition Batch Utility

Faster, smoother batch management with greater control and clarity.

What It Is

We’ve improved the Tuition Batch Utility to deliver more predictable pagination and greater control when managing large batches.

What’s New

  • Reduced latency when reviewing large batches
  • Ability to edit, save, and navigate across pages freely
  • Finalize Batch available from any page
  • Clear user control and messaging when recalculating batches
  • “Show more students” relabeled to “Add Newly Eligible Students”
  • Deleting transactions no longer pulls records forward from other pages

Why It Matters

These enhancements reduce confusion, prevent lost changes, and provide a more stable, intuitive experience when working with growing tuition batches.

Action Required

No configuration is required.

New Integrations: CIMA, Pivot Point LAB, and Portico Skills Tracker

Upcoming enhancements will further strengthen integration across the Portico ecosystem. The SIS integration will be expanded to include academic data captured through CIMA, PPL, and Skills tracking within the Attendance app. This enhancement will deliver key information such as scores, skills progress, and services data directly into the Portico SIS student record.

This update supports a more connected Portico ecosystem by ensuring key academic data from multiple departments is centralized in one place. With all relevant information housed within the SIS record, institutions benefit from improved visibility, stronger continuity across teams, and a true single source of truth for student progress and outcomes.

More details about timing and configuration will be shared closer to release.
