Portico SIS Release Notes - October 2025
This month, we are highlighting a new feature which improves the user experience and reduces manual efforts.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Holidays & Breaks
With this new feature, administrators are able to inventory dates for which a school campus is closed and classes are not in session. Holidays and Breaks will be referenced when creating classes, configuring the gradebook, and posting attendance. Scheduled and attended time for dates that are designated as part of the Holidays and Breaks will be prevented.
What Is It
A new List Inventory section which will be referenced to prevent scheduling classes and gradebook entries on school-closed dates. Attendance entries conflicting with Holidays and Breaks will be prohibited, except for integration-received attendance.
Who It's For
Registrar Department
Problem Solved
Improved usability when scheduling class days and safeguarding compliance standards by not allowing attendance to be recorded for dates identified as a holiday or break.
Why It Matters
This feature eliminates rework boosting productivity while reducing compliance risks. The simple set-up with immediate safeguards provides fast time-to-value.
Flex Study
With this new feature, students that meet at various dates and times will be able to be scheduled into a single class. These classes are considered as not having a preset schedule for any student, which is similar to asynchronous classes. The scheduled hours are constructed based on individual gradebook entries.
What Is It
Similar to asynchronous classes, this option does not apply a fixed schedule for the students meeting days or times. Unlike asynchronous classes, a class schedule will be constructed based on the attendance entries in the gradebook.
Who It's For
Registrar & Academic Departments
Problem Solved
This provides the unique class flexibility needed for externship, internship, and clinical classes.
