Portico SIS Release Notes - November 2025

This month, we are highlighting new features which give schools greater operational flexibility providing enrollment outbound API endpoints, Flex Study, options when processing internal transfer credit, and expanding the Services Template with effective date ranges.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Outbound API Endpoints

With this new feature, administrators are able to retrieve all relevant data associated with a student enrollment. A full listing can be found at Verity Connector.

What Is It

Outbound API endpoints are available allowing data to be retrieved from the SIS when performing a GET request.

Who It's For

IT, Compliance, & Executive Department

Problem Solved

Select data can be retrieved, shared, and used in a variety of way including custom reporting and external 3rd party integrations.

Flex Study

With this new feature, students that meet at various dates and times can be scheduled into a single class. These classes are considered to not have a preset schedule for any student which is similar to asynchronous classes. The scheduled hours are constructed based on individual gradebook entries. Gradebook templates can be attached to the classes allowing scores and calculating a final grade.

What Is It

Similar to asynchronous classes, this option does not apply a fixed schedule for the students meeting days or times. Unlike asynchronous classes, a class schedule will be constructed based on the attendance entries in the gradebook.

Who It's For

Registrar & Academic Departments

Problem Solved

This provides the unique class flexibility needed for externship, internship, and clinical classes.

Option to include GPA/GA value with internal transfer credit

With this new feature, a user may chose to include the GPA/GA value of a course when processing internal transfer credit. Including the GPA/GA value will impact the cumulative GPA/GA value of the new enrollment. Users may chose to keep the grade on file or select a new grade to be applied.  If the option to include in GPA/GA is selected, grades that do not have a GPA/GA value will not be available for selection.

What Is It

An option to include GPA/GA value with internal transfer credit impacting the overall cumulative GPA/GA value for the enrollment.  Grade Average is a 100-point scale instead of the standard 4-point GPA scale.

Who It's For

Registrar & Academic Departments

Why It Matters

This option supports school policies that require the GPA/GA value to be included in subsequent enrollments.

Effective Date Range in Services Template

With this new feature, the Services Template now includes an Effective Date and an Effective End Date for each service. The enrollment start date will be referenced to determine the Service requirements for an enrollment. The Effective End Date should remain blank until the service item or amount no longer applies.

What Is It

Effective date range fields per service item in the Service Template.

Who It's For

Registrar & Academic Departments.

Why It Matters

The effective date range supports changes to academic requirements without the need to create a new program version.

Extended Schedule

With this new feature, administrators are able to select if and when additional schedule hours should be applied for clock hour programs. When enabled, this feature will automate additional schedule hours when a student does not attend as scheduled.

Who It's For

Clock hour programs, Registrar Department

Problem Solved

Extended schedule will create additional hours for the student to attend and those hours will be considered scheduled.

Why It Matters

This new feature expands system flexibility and supports school operational choice for enrollments evaluating on a Grade Average scale.
