Overview
When clocking in or out, Trajecsys uses your device's GPS to verify your location. If location access was denied at any point, or if your device settings are blocking location sharing, you may see a warning or your time record may not reflect your correct location. This article walks through how to resolve the most common causes.
Before You Start
- Make sure your device's Location Services are turned on system-wide (check under Settings).
- Disable Airplane Mode or Do Not Disturb before clocking in. These modes prevent Trajecsys from capturing your location.
- Make sure your phone's software is up to date. Outdated software can affect GPS accuracy.
If You Previously Denied Location Access
If you tapped "Don't Allow" when Trajecsys first asked for location permission, you'll need to reset that setting. Start by clearing your browser's history and data, then follow the steps for your device below.
iPhone
- Go to Settings and tap Safari.
- Tap Clear History and Website Data.
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset, then tap Reset Location & Privacy.
Additional iPhone steps:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and confirm Location Services is turned on.
- Scroll down to Safari Websites and make sure it is set to Allow or Ask.
- On the Trajecsys website, tap the two A's to the left of the address bar, choose Website Settings, and confirm Location is set to Allow or Ask.
Android
- Open Chrome and tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data and clear the data.
- In Chrome Settings, go to Site Settings > Location. If www.trajecsys.com appears in the blocked list, tap it and change location access to Allow.
Tips for Accurate Clock-Ins
- After logging in, wait a few seconds before tapping the clock-in button. The GPS coordinates need a moment to load. When you see "Good Accuracy" appear under the coordinates, it is safe to proceed.
- After clocking in, log back in briefly to confirm the record saved correctly.
- GPS accuracy is affected by your surroundings. Rural areas with fewer cell towers and dense urban areas with tall buildings can reduce precision.
If the Issue Persists
If location does not reset after following these steps, the problem is likely specific to your device model or carrier. Contact your device manufacturer or cell service provider for instructions specific to your setup. Trajecsys functions like any other website with respect to location services and has no additional control over device-level settings.
